Watch D.O.G.S.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering.  There are two primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:

  1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
  2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school. During the day, WatchDOGS may play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, attend your child’s specials, run errands for the front office, change out the marquee and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.

The program kick off for JRE will be September 19, 2017 from 6-7 PM.  Dads attending the Kick Off meeting will receive pre-access to the 2017/2018 Watch D.O.G.S. sign-up.  The sign-up will be available on our website and Facebook page to all of the JRE community the evening of September 20.  Official Watch D.O.G.S. duty will begin on September 25.  All Watch D.O.G.S. must wear the official Watch D.O.G.S. t-shirt while on duty.  To order your t-shirt click here. Signup to get Remind101 texts from the Watch Dogs:  text 81010 with the message @3cecc8

We are requesting that Dads only signup a MAXIMUM OF 2 TIMES to allow all Dads and/or Father Figures an opportunity to request a day that works best with their schedules.  Dads can officially signup for additional days beyond the initial 2 beginning October 2.
