James River Elementary PTA

The Williamsburg-James City County PTA Council invites you to a “Dialogue with WJCC Leadership.”  Superintendent Dr. Steve Constantino will provide an update  on the strategic planning process and the 2012/2013 budget.  This will be followed by an opportunity for Q&A with W-JCC School Board members Heather Cordasco, Elise Emanuel, Joe Fuentes, Ruth Larson and Dr. Oscar Prater in informal breakout sessions.

When -  Monday, February 20, 2012, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Where – Berkeley Middle School, 1118 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg

This event is being hosted by the W-JCC PTA Council and is open to the public.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Bring your family to James River Elementary’s first school spirit night at the College of William & Mary!  Cheer on your favorite team as the the W&M Tribe takes on ODU’s Lady Monarchs in women’s basketball. FREE admission to all JRE students and discounted admission to adults ($5) and youth ($3, ages 17 and younger).  Don’t forget to wear your James River spirit wear and/or school colors (light blue, white, & navy!)

The game starts at 7:00om on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Kaplan Arena at William & Mary Hall.

Watch for the flyer coming home with your child and return it to your child’s teacher by Monday, January 23 to receive your tickets before game night!

Don’t miss the annual International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Magnet Program Meeting.  Tour James River Elementary School and learn more about our inquiry-based international and multicultural focus on learning!

Governor Bob McDonnell and the Board of Education recently recognized James River Elementary’s achievement with the Education Excellence Award.  This award is earned by Virginia public schools that successfully meet all state and federal accountability benchmarks for at least two consecutive years and make significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities.
